SLIPCOVER CARE

In considering cleaning options, it is important to know if the fabric used for your slipcover can be washed or not. Ask your Retail Sales Associate to check the swatch of the fabric in the store. If the fabric can be washed, there will be a note on the swatch stating that this is a washed fabric. If the fabric is not pre-washed, then cleaning should be performed by a professional upholstered furniture cleaning company. You should provide the company with the cleaning code found on the law label attached to the underside of your furniture. Note: as a general rule, steam cleaning should never be used on your furniture. Before removing your slipcover for cleaning, look carefully at how the cover is applied so that you can easily replace it. Slipcovers with contrasting welt may need additional care so colors do not bleed. It is not recommended that you wash your slipcover if it has a contrasting welt.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

Even if you have a washable slipcover you may want to have it professionally cleaned. The body slipcover of a sofa is a fairly bulky load, requiring a “Laundromat” type of washer. Should you choose to wash your slipcover, follow these instructions:

• Suggest running the washer through a wash cycle empty before washing slipcover to be sure it is free of detergents, bleach, or other impurities to avoid spots/stains.

• Suggest washing entire slipcover; washing only select parts may result in color variations. A good tip is to wash a collection, another words, the chair, the sofa and then the ottoman, etc.

• Avoid overloading your washer. Separate slipcovers into separate loads, wash body cover in first load, then cushions.

• Zip all Zippers closed to prevent any damage.

• Wash in Gentle cycle. Use cold water and mild detergent. Avoid Bleach or bleach additives.

• Remove slipcover immediately. Air Drying is recommended. You can use dryer on no heat setting. Tumble dry until

slightly damp.

• Re-cover sofa while still slightly damp. You may need to stretch while applying to sofa. This ensure the right fit as the fabric fully dries.

• Stand cushions on end and rotate every 20-30 minutes until dry. This prevents water from draining on one side and avoiding possible water stains.
