Cool Contours 1 pays homage to the great Hilma af Klint, the Swedish painter and mystic credited with creating some of the earliest known abstract pieces in Western art history. This piece offers an inviting biomorphic theme with its boldly defined organic shapes. A heavy black contour line plays a distinct role by providing the eye with a focal point while hand-drawn marks offer a counterpoint. The cool color palette presents a contrast with alabaster and eggshell white alongside denim and steel blue all punctuated by a pop of mustard yellow and chocolate brown.
