The City of Virginia Beach has canceled July 4th fireworks and some other events through July 5th.  Although this is disappointing, there are many ways we can still celebrate safely at home this holiday.  Here are some great ways to enjoy this patriotic summer holiday:

Go for a bike ride.

Spending time outdoors getting fresh air, exercise, and sunlight help contribute to good health and a better immune system.  Get active on your day off and go for a bike ride before all the eating and partying begins.

Celebrate on the beach.

One of the best parts about living in Hampton Roads is being close to the beautiful beaches. Pack up for a fun day in the sun where you can sunbath, swim, fish, or enjoy a gorgeous sunrise or sunset.

Relax at Home.

Turn your backyard into the coolest restaurant in town. Our Wendy Jane Performance Rugs and Pillows can handle anything - even an unexpected guest 🐶

Sometimes with holiday plans, less is more. Make delicious summer drinks, barbeque, play your favorite tunes, and kick back, relax, and soak up some sun in your own backyard or patio.

Set up a backyard movie theater.

There’s something magical about watching a movie outdoors, whether it’s at the drive-in or in your own backyard. A DIY backyard movie theater is actually pretty easy to set up yourself.  All you need is a projector, a screen or sheet, a speaker or sound system, and a comfy place to lounge or sit. You could also watch from the pool or hot tub if you have one.

We hope you enjoyed these ideas and that everyone has a safe and healthy Fourth of July!
